WALKERS’ WORLD
Guided Rambling Holidays

Eastern Tuscany,  Italy

Where We Stay in Eastern Tuscany:

This walking tour is a single-centred holiday. We spend seven nights at a hotel just outside the town of Cortona. Most days we start and end our walks with a short bus ride on our private bus.

Our hotel: We stay at the atmospheric, 3 star Hotel Oasi.  This hotel is formerly a convent beside a 12th century church. It has a beautiful view over the Val di Chiana and extensive, serene gardens with fountains and lemon trees. The hotel has its own medieval wine cellar selling local wine. Restored rooms
have TV,  hairdryer and private modern bathroom with shower. The beautiful restaurant is located in the original monastic refectory and offers typical Tuscan cuisine.  http://www.hoteloasi.org

Food:  As in most regions of Italy, in Eastern Tuscany you can expect to eat abundantly and well. Dinner at the Oasi is a satisfying way to end a day of walking. Food is generally simple with attention paid to freshness and quality with seasonal vegetables. Breakfast is a buffet which includes coffee, yoghurt, cereal, bread, cheese, ham, croissants and jam. On five nights we have dinner in the hotel. On two nights we go to local restaurants. Dinners at the hotel include a choice of main course plus a starter, a pasta dish and dessert.

Starting Point:  Florence Rail Station at 4.00 pm. From here we transfer by private bus to Cortona.  At the end of the tour we return by bus to Florence Rail Station about 11.00 am on Saturday.
