The following are types of travel insurance:

TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE
Trip Cancellation Insurance covers you in case you are forced to cancel your holiday because of emergency reasons. The reasons which are covered include illness, accident, death in the family, illness in the family, quarantine, being called to jury duty and missing a holiday because of flights being cancelled due to bad weather. For full details on this you should read the policy.

This insurance is optional but we recommend that you purchase it if you do not already have insurance. Some travelers have it already as a benefit with their credit card or their employment. If you wish to purchase it you must do so when you pay a deposit on a trip. The price depends on the cost of your trip, your age and the length of your stay outside the country. Ask for a quote when you book your trip.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL INSURANCE
We ask that every participant on a walking holiday have medical coverage while away from home. If you do not already have this already as a benefit of your employment or your credit card please ask us for a quote. Price depends on your age and the number of days you are out of the country. If you are Canadian this insurance offers unlimited emergency medical cover. If you are an American resident
we suggest you purchase medical insurance from a US insurer. We can recommend several insurance companies.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Why is it called Teachers' Travel?.

Our company was started in 1970 by a group of teachers. At first our clients were mostly teachers but over the years we have branched out and now people on our tours come from all professions.

What are our Office Hours?
Office hours are 9.00am - 6.00 pm EST Mon to Fri .

How many people are in the groups?
The ideal number is about 20. Each holiday requires a minimum number of participants and we reserve the right to cancel any holiday if we do not have this number 60 days prior to the start. If a holiday is cancelled by us due to low number of participants, any deposits on that holiday will be refunded in full. We suggest that you do not purchase non-refundable air tickets until the minimum number of participants has been reached. Check with us before making your travel arrangements.

Who goes on these walking tours?
Most of the participants are Canadians from all across Canada. We occasionally get a few Americans, Australians and New Zealanders. Usually the groups are a mixture of singles and couples. The average age we would guess (it is sometimes difficult to tell) is probably 55 - 65.

How long has Walkers World / Teachers Travel been in business?
We have been in business since 1970. We are a full-service IATA agency licensed under the Ontario Government Travel Act for your financial protection. TICO (the Travel Industry Council of Ontario) is the regulatory body and their telephone number is 905-624-6241. Our registration number is 1185985. Consumers who book with a licensed TICO agent are protected financially.

Living standards and practices at the destination and standards and conditions there with respect to the provision of utilities, services and accommodation may differ from those found in Canada.
