Walkers' World
Guided Walking and Sightseeing
in
Turkey

2012 Dates:  Sept 30 -  Oct 15   ( starts in Istanbul Oct 1 )
At the crossroads of East and West, Turkey, with its Mediterranean sunshine, spectacular scenery, exotic culture and fascinating history beckons. Landscapes are layered with remains of ancient civilizations. As we walk in Cappadocia we find thousand-year-old cave churches decorated with amazingly vivid frescoes.  Along the south coast we walk on trails far older than recorded history and we discover ruins of ancient cities.

On our tour we stay two nights in Istanbul for city walking. We then fly to Cappadocia, an interior region ideal for walking amid canyons, historic sites and small villages.  We continue south by private bus to travel across the "Turquoise Coast" from Antalya to Izmir. Along the way we sightsee as well as hike some of the beautiful trails along the famous Lycian Way. From Izmir we fly back to Istanbul for our final night.

Our groups are no more than 20 people and accompanied by two very experienced and knowledgeable guides. The hotels we use are first class and at most stops we stay for two nights. Breakfast and dinners are included.
