Guided Rambling Holidays
Provence, France
     May and September, 2008

Upper Provence or Lower Provence - choose from two Provence locations (each for a week) or combine them for a two-week holiday. Each of our walking weeks is a "two-centred" holiday – returning to the same hotel on six of the seven nights with the final night in Avignon. Using private coaches to begin and end most walks enables us to explore the best parts of this beautiful region.

Walking In Lower Provence:
May 24 - 31 2008
Sept  Sept 27 - Oct 4, 2008
The Cotes du Luberon Region
     $1799CAD
Based in the town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, we explore the Luberon countryside including its medieval hilltop villages. Our rambles include visits to Fontaine de Vaucluse where water cascades from a magic spring as well as to flower-filled St. Rémy where Van Gogh painted. We walk to fabled Les Baux with its legends of the "Court d’Amour" and we visit Arles with its Roman ruins.

If you would like a two week holiday in France you can combine walking in Lower Provence and in the Languedoc.
Walking In Upper Provence: May  17 - 24. 2008
                                                      Sept  20 - 27, 2008

Cotes Du Rhone Wine Country     $1799CAD.
Based in the charming town of Vaison-la-Romaine, our walks roam through a variety of terrain in Haute Provence including sun-drenched vineyards, tranquil olive groves, somnolent villages and shady woodland paths. History is revealed with every footstep as we explore medieval castles and a Roman theatre.

We divide our walks into two groups: Tranquil and Sportif. This is ideal for couples and friends who want to travel together yet have differing walking abilities. Hiking boots are strongly recommended.

Tranquil - are leisurely walks done at a relaxed pace with lots of stopping to appreciate the views. Although the walk lasts most of the day, this group walks a shorter distance than the "sportif" group thus reaching its destination first. There is time to drink at a café and to explore small villages. Distance is about 10 km per day with 300 metres of ascent. Walking is on country roads, stoney mule paths, quiet woodland trails and farm tracks.

Sportif- are more energetic than the tranquil group. Maximum distance could be up to 16 km with up to 500 metres of ascent. These are not athletic events and the emphasis is still on having fun. There may be occasional steep ascents but they will be done at a moderate pace.
